Unavoidable subtrees

چکیده
Let Tk be a family of all k-vertex trees. For T ⊆ Tk and a tree T , we write T → T if T contains at least one of the trees from T as a subtree, we write T 6→ T otherwise. Let ex(T ) be the smallest integer n, if such exists, such that for any tree T on at least n vertices T → T . It is shown that min{ex(T ) : T ⊆ Tk, |T | = q} = 2 log q−1 , where logq−1 is the q− 1 times iterated logarithm. In addition, the bounds on ex(T ) for families T with a given number of spiders are given.

Survival Probabilities for N -ary Subtrees on a Galton-Watson Family Tree
The family tree of a Galton-Watson branching process may contain N -ary subtrees, i.e. subtrees whose vertices have at least N ≥ 1 children. For family trees without infinite N -ary subtrees, we study how fast N -ary subtrees of height t disappear as t → ∞.
متن کاملCMTreeMiner: Mining Both Closed and Maximal Frequent Subtrees
Tree structures are used extensively in domains such as computational biology, pattern recognition, XML databases, computer networks, and so on. One important problem in mining databases of trees is to find frequently occurring subtrees. However, because of the combinatorial explosion, the number of frequent subtrees usually grows exponentially with the size of the subtrees. In this paper, we p...
متن کاملIMB3-Miner: Mining Induced/Embedded Subtrees by Constraining the Level of Embedding
Tree mining has recently attracted a lot of interest in areas such as Bioinformatics, XML mining, Web mining, etc. We are mainly concerned with mining frequent induced and embedded subtrees. While more interesting patterns can be obtained when mining embedded subtrees, unfortunately mining such embedding relationships can be very costly. In this paper, we propose an efficient approach to tackle...
متن کاملOn the distribution of the number of computations in any finite number of subtrees for the stack algorithm
Multitype branching processes have been employed to determine the stack algorithm computational distribution for one subtree. These results are extended here to the distribution of the number of computations in any finite number of subtrees. Starting from the computational distribution for K-l subsequent subtrees, a recurrent equation for the distribution for K subsequent subtrees is determined.
متن کاملMining Maximal Frequent Subtrees based on Fusion Compression and FP-tree
It is commonly accepted that mining frequent subtrees play pivotal roles in areas like Web log analysis, XML document analysis, semi-structured data analysis, as well as biometric information analysis, chemical compound structure analysis, etc. An improved algorithm, i.e. MFPTM algorithm, which based on fusion compression and FP-tree principle, was proposed in this paper to determine a better w...
